Blogging Blunder
One day a girl named Jennifer was playing around with pictures she had taken with her friend the day before. The two of them had a blog called Jennifer and Susan. She posted the pictures of herself and her friend on the blog and underneath she did something unthinkable....she wrote her phone number, IM adress, e-mail adress, and her home adress so that her viewers could contact her and tell her what they thought. The next day weird things began to happen...dunt...dunt...dunt...duhhh.... Ok maybe that was a little too dramatic. LOL. Anyway, she was home alone and she got an IM from someone she didn't know. They asked her where her parents were and she thought it was someone that they worked with, so she replied, "They are not home". You guessed it...she had made a huge mistake! The person was really a man who she didn't know and he was trying to track her down so he could kidnap her. She had told him EXACTLY what he wanted to here! 10 minutes later a car pulled up in front of her house and at the same time she recieved a phone call from a man who didn't sound familiar. He said, "May I talk to your mother please?". She answered, "She is not home" and he replied, "Is oyur dad avaliable?". When she siad the same thing he knew that there was noone home besides her and he stepped out of the car. Looking both ways, he walked up to the door and rang the door bell. 'Knock.....Knock......Knock', he knocked on the door. Her heart skipped a beat and she ran to the bathroom, which had no windows and only one door, grabbing the phone as she ran. She had noticed her mistake, and as she dialed 911 she realized that there was no way she could change it. The man was at her door and there was nothing she could do about it, she was trapped! When she told the policeman what had happened he told her that they would be there ASAP and to leave the house through the basement. She did as she was told and the man kept on knocking. When she safely out of the house she crept to a trusted neighbor's house and stayed there with an adult until the police came. The man was arrested and Jenny had to change all of her personal info so that the people that saw her blog couldn't contact her. She was banned from her blog and she was not allowed to stay home alone anymore.

Be careful of what you open
Okay I know we have talked about a lot of stroies but we have only a couple more. Well..... One day there was ths boy Steven . He has an email sdress and he had a lot of friends in his adress list. One day Steven got an email from someone he didn't know. Well.... Steven didn't know better so he opened that email. Then suddenly a virus started poping up and then ever since all Steven's personal files got deleated!! Steven had to buy another computer and then he had learned his lesson about not opening emails of people he didn't know. Steven was always careful of what he opened.
Be safe... and don't open emails from people you don't know.

The moral of the chatroom story
The moral of the chatroom story is to never give out personal information. If your not sure if something classifies as personal information DO NOT GIVE IT OUT! Your personal info includes your full name, your telephone number, your adress, your e-mail, and even your IM adress. NEVER agree to meet someone you don't know in person! Even if your friend knows that person, it can still be dangerous. That is how Amanda's story ends she agreed to meet the person in real life and it turned out he was a predator! The best way to protect yourself from ending up like Amanda is to follow the tips given above. Remember, you can be safe and have fun at the same time! Safe Surfing!
